We write original music rooted in the American folk and bluegrass traditions in a chamber ensemble setting. {ELSE} is an industrial-ambient hard-rock band from Milwaukee. We’re defined by tightly-knit guitars, industrial fx, ambient sounds, churning bass, heavy drums, and searing vocals. The band ambitiously combines influences ranging from old-school metal, through the industrial bands of the 90s, to modern post-rock and ambient sounds. With a constant stream of newly recorded material and a blistering live show, {ELSE} is not a band to miss.

    Pay The Devil

Pay the Devil got together in the winter of 2011 and has been playing around the Milwaukee area ever since. Playing original tunes in a variety of styles alongside an assortment of bluegrass and old-time standards, sea shanties, folk, Irish traditional, and country music, this five-piece made up of a guitar, mandolin, banjo, upright bass, and washboard (spoons and assorted other hillbilly percussive instruments) puts on a fun live show filled with foot-stomping, thigh-slapping music, and enough hollering to go around.
